The Montmartre Market in Bayonne was created during springtime in 1996 in front of the Cathedral. The Amicale Porte d’Espagne Association wanted to create typical days full of colours, local songs and creating a union between sellers and artists.

The music party is already 10-years old. It has become the place to be in Bayonne and the region for thousands of music-lovers.

With more than 80 groups and artists playing on 20 stages and in the streets, it is one of Bayonne’s main event, organized by Bayonne’s tourist office. It enables to combine music to the beauty of Bayonne’s heritage.

From July 12^th to 14^th, Jazz music invades Bayonne’s streets and town centre. La Ruée au Jazz has always tried to introduce this music to as many people and spectators as possible, and that’s still the main purpose of the festival.

The 18^TH edition of the Medieval Market will take place, as every year, on July 12^th, 13^th and 14^th in Bayonne. Magicians, soldiers, troubadours…invade the town centre during three days…

Many activities take place during these 5 “crazy days”. Including traditions ones, such as bull races in the streets of the Petit Bayonne, or bullfighting, since 1933. This festival attracts more than 350 000 persons every year.

July 14^th, and august, 2^nd, 3^rd, 9^th, 10^th, 15^th, 30^th, 31^st.

Bayonne is the oldest bullfighting town in France.

Its bullring is the biggest in the south West of France and the most famous bullfighters come here every year, in order to fight against the most ferocious bulls.
